Chapters 1-2

In the first chapter, the main characters were introduced. Matty, a young adult, lives in a slightly strange society. Without the numerous accounts of magic, things would be alot like a Native American village without war. The town is just called Village. Many other things follow the same simplicity, like the forest around Village is called Forest. The people of Village have slightly more creative names, like a teacher is called "Mentor". Still not stalwart creativity, but better than "Village".

The first couple chapters also hint Matty's power. He finds a frog not moving with a severed leg, only a few strands of tissue holding the dragging leg on. Matty wants to help the frog move without it's leg, so he picks it up and looks for a sharp stone to cut the tissue with. Magically, the frog jumps out of Matty's hand, using both legs to propel itself forward. Matty realizes that his own leg feels slightly weakened, but regains the energy after some rest.

Matty's parents died when he was young, and he lived in a horrible village, in which stealing, cheating, and lying were fine. He stole to stay alive, living with a gang of boys. He ran away to escape this, and arrives at Village, tired and wild. A blind man known for his special sight named Seer took Matty in and cared for him as a father would. Matty grows up to be much nicer and honest and smart.

It shows a lot of information. It consist of probalby what the chapters mostly are about. Maybe you can add some more easy words becasue people reading it sometimes dont read dictionarys..for example simplicity. Good job though!

The frog overview is really descriptive, well done. It is apparent that Matty has some kind of talent and it drains a lot out of him but you dont really know what. Very suspenseful

that frog thing was weird and gross. you did a good jod desribing it though.

N-Diggy, this is the architect, and I would like to tell you tat Lois Lowry focuses on strange futuristic societies in many books, so just keep that in mind while reading the giver, messenger, or gathering blue.
And BTW, to the person who said not enough detail, this isn't a cheat sheet for Messenger tests, because this is definitely not a reliable resource for facts on the messenger
